Favre is fooling no one

Brett Favre, I know you like attention. And this piece is just giving you more, so I am as guilty as ESPN, NFL Network, John Madden and everyone else that talks about your playing status on a daily basis.

However, let's get one thing straight Brett, your not fooling me and most of the NFL watchers out there. We all know you will be taking the snaps if not right at the start of the season on September 9th in New Orleans or shortly there after. You are milking this ankle injury to avoid being in training camp longer than necessary because Vikings coach Brad Childress and the entire Vikings brass are allowing you to hold them over a barrel. Maybe, you are doing this as a ploy for more money. That would be a new maneuver for you in this annual ritual of not coming to camp until the middle of August.

Nearly two and a half years ago, you sobbed in Green Bay as you retired, we all believed you that retiring as a Green Bay Packer meant the world to you. Shame on us. You came back, angry and bitter at the organization that had given you the world because they had moved on. You then forced a trade when you didn't get your way, but not to where you wanted to go (Minnesota or Tampa) but Green Bay sent you to the Jets. Jets fans were giddy but you sucked for them (although you did get Mangini fired, so it was not all bad). Then, you unceremoniously retired in February of 2009, stated you would stay retired in July and then by the third week of August you were in Minnesota, where you wanted to be all along. You got the Vikings within a game of the Super Bowl and had it not been for your foolish across the body throw, you may have been in the Super Bowl.

However, it is all tiring. Its like watching the same play over and over. We know how you work and how this will all turn out, with you under center for the Vikings. So end this crap, and just tell us you are coming back already. Everyone already knows, so lets cut out the small bit of suspense and unnecessary and daily Brett Favre report from Ed Werder. About the only people who appreciate all this are the Hattiesburg, Mississippi high schoolers and their economy, which gets additional visitors from your workouts with the high school football players. Contrary to what some players are saying, this crap can't sit well with all the Vikings in the locker room, who probably resent how he gets treated with kid gloves by everyone for the crap he is pulling.

So, do something different this time, and just show up to training camp, without all the drama and the big production. Everyone know your playing, so stop the silly high school workouts and go hang out with the guys, you are suppose to be fighting for, bleeding and sweating with for six months, although for Brett its really only like four and a half months.

I am personally hoping for some poetic justice this time around when the Packers over take the Vikings for NFC North supremacy and win a Super Bowl without Favre, while Favre is still in the league.

  1. The interception was definitely bad and came at the worst possible time, but that loss in on the whole team. How many fumbles did they have? The O-line was atrocious and gave Favre no time.

So you want the Packers and not the Jets to win the Super Bowl this season, eh? I'm gonna have to question your fanhood.
